Snapchat has now become another way to cheat on your significant other!

How fun is it to discover that there is another way for your partner to cheat on you without ever finding out? Snapchat is a breeding ground for cheaters to immense themselves in provocative images and chats.

And with over 300 million Snapchat users, the number of cheaters on Snapchat just keeps growing.

How do people cheat on Snapchat?

There are a few ways that may shock you.

A Quick Explanation of Snapchat:

If you are unfamiliar with Snapchat, it is an app that you can download and send texts and images privately to your friends. You can also add snaps to your “story” that are available for all of your friends to see for one day.

Sounds like a typical social networking platform, right?

However, with Snapchat there is a little twist.

When you send a snapchat to a friend, the snap will disappear after the recipient views it. If you post something to your story, it’s available for only 24 hours. Snaps have a short shelf life.

Important Note: Snapchat will let you know if the person you sent the snap to screenshotted your snap.

From what I’ve experienced, most people are too uncomfortable to screenshot something when they are aware that the sender will get a screenshot notification. On Snapchat, it is very rare that your snap will be seen by anyone besides the recipient.

It’s easy to understand why people are using Snapchat to cheat. Not only can you send provocative texts and images that disappear once they are viewed like magic, but you can also plan a randevu secretly without your partner knowing.

How to Catch A Cheater On Snapchat

Catching your cheating partner on Snapchat does not mean actually seeing their snaps. Unfortunately, you can’t see your partner’s actual snaps unless they are screenshotted or saved to their camera roll (you can save your snaps to your camera roll if you were the snap creator).

However, you can see who they are snapping the most often, how often they snap the person and possibly even where they are located.

See Where Your Cheating Partner Is Located Using Snap Map

Snap Map is a map that displays where all of your Snapchat friends are at that very moment.

To see where your partner is, you will need to add them on Snapchat if you haven’t already.

If they don’t want to ad you or have the map feature disabled, they may have some explaining to do.

See If Your Partner Is Cheating by Looking at Their Snapchat Friend Emojis

There is a “Friend Emoji Guide” on Snapchat that let’s you know exactly who the Snapchat user’s frequent friends are, and how friendly they are with each other…

For example, a yellow heart next to their username means that they are best friends, they both send the most snaps to each other…

Even more serious, the two pink heart emoji means that they have been each other’s best friends for at least two months…

Of course, there are less serious ones as well, you can view Snapchat’s Friend Emoji Guide to learn about all of them.

If your spouse is really tech-savvy

They know that they can change the icons at any time. To change the emojis, they simply need to go to their friend emoji settings under their profile.

If you think that your spouse changed the emojis, you can always go to their settings and view their emoji status yourself.

See If Your Partner Is Cheating by Looking at Their Snap Streaks

If your partner is on Snapstreak with someone it means that your partner and that other person have Snapped (not chatted/texted) each other within 24 hours for more than three days in a row on Snapchat.

How can you tell if your partner is on Snapstreak with someone else?

They should have a fire emoji next to their snaps. Additionally, there will be a number next to the fire emoji. The number stands for how many days in a row they have been snapping with this specific snapchat user.

What to Do If You Or Your Partner Have Been Exposed On Snapchat

There are several ways to be exposed on Snapchat. If you have been exposed on Snapchat or have exposed your partner, I’d say that either way you are in a big pickle.

The big problem with cheating on Snapchat is that it is extremely deceitful. Not only does it involve cheating, but the cheater is purposefully using Snapchat to cover their tracks. They never plan to tell their partner that they are involved in an affair.

At this point, it up to you as a couple what the next steps are. There may be counseling involved to help work though the pain and abuse of trust. Perhaps mistakes can be forgiven but not forgotten.

Doing Further Investigation

Sometimes it’s unclear if someone is cheating or if they are just maybe a bit too friendly with someone and need to back-off a bit. If that’s the case, you can check their phone further for clues.

Cheaters often leave a person’s name they are hooking up with under a pseudo or false name. If you spot an unfamiliar name on their caller Id, my best bet is to lookup the phone number associated with that name to see who is really calling them by performing a reverse phone lookup.

You can also lookup unfamiliar numbers that are on their recent call history as well. This might be a good idea before accusing your partner of cheating since there are many spam and scam artists that call people every day.

Tip: By doing a reverse phone lookup, you can see if there is a real person behind the number or not.

Final Thoughts

Cheating is a dangerous game, one that I personally don’t participate in. The main reason that I am passionate about writing for National Cellular Directory is that of their commitment to catch cheaters and other people who take advantage of another person’s trust.
